During development of our backpack with attached stool and solar panel, we distributed a handful of prototypes to organizations to test durability, efficacy and design while on medical or disaster relief missions. The Power of One was an important asset on several trips to Puerto Rico during the 11-month power outage following Hurricane Maria, providing a mobile office to the team on site. Each feature was utilized, from the solar charged LED lights to the insulated side pouch.
Our friends at Backpack EMR brought the 35-L, water resistant pack along to a medical mission in Haiti, where they were able to fit all of their gear (including 11 iPads, a router, solar panel and more) as well as provide a seat for doctors to utilize when seeing a patient. They found it extremely helpful and hope to use our packs for all of their work in the future.
In today’s technology-forward world, many of us forget the importance- and luxury- of having access to power. Even in our own backyard, there are those with electronics but without a home in which they can simply plug in and charge their devices. As a company, we strive to continue developing products that are both utilitarian and impactful. If you know of an organization that may find our products of value or have innovative ideas about the use of our products, please reach out to our team at firstname.lastname@example.org
